Are there any miracle weight loss supplements that are guaranteed to help you lose fat quickly and safely?

The one word answer is “No”.

The weight loss industry is swamped with over-hyped products promising quick, miraculous results guaranteed to make you lose weight fast without any work on your part at all.

We would all like to find such a magic pill or potion. But the fact is that they simply don’t work.

There are some weight loss supplements that act as diuretics or laxatives that make it appear that they are a true miracle weight loss supplement but any weight loss they produce is not fat. It is mainly liquid which you replenish the next time you eat or drink a couple glasses of water.

The short answer would be no!  Weight loss pills are not the long term answer to losing excess pounds.  They may help in the short term but they also may cause damage your health.

Always be leery of anything that says it will help lose pounds effortlessly.  At best, the majority of these products are a waste of money and time.  At worst, they may actually cause health problems.

There are certain products recommended by doctors for those that are clinically obese.  These pills are not the same as the ones you see selling on the internet or at your local store. They are only available under medical supervision and only suitable for certain patients with particular conditions.  Don’t ever be tempted to take any form of medication prescribed for someone else unless you have sought medical advice.

Some diet pills contain amino acids.  In spite of there being no evidence that they work, the packaging will tell you that they increase muscle mass and burn fat. These same amino acids can be obtained free by eating meat and eggs and a proven way to lose fat is with plenty of exercise.

Some other weight loss pills are made from crab shells. These are particularly dangerous for those with an allergy to shellfish. For the rest of us, they have a laxative effect. This will help you to lose some weight but it is mainly water.

Laxatives are not the answer to long term weight loss. They are dangerous as they are potentially addictive. Using them can lead to long term bowel problems so do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Gyms are a good place to be offered supplements that you should avoid. Many of these contain chromium and picolinate. Again the theory here is very different from the reality.  The people selling these products will claim that you will lose fat and gain muscle tone. That may happen for some people but others are quite likely to experience health problems.

When these two compounds are mixed, they can cause issues for those that already suffering ill-health such as liver damage, diabetes etc. To be honest, I would suggest you avoid them as even the experts argue on how safe these substances are.

There will always be plenty of weight loss pills on the market. What is the reason for this?  Well it is not for your good health. It is purely down to money. The diet trade is huge and worth billions and the pharmaceutical industry wants to get their slice of the pie.

You can do yourself a favor and avoid all of these these products. As boring as it sounds, healthy eating and regular exercise is the only way to long term weight loss and good health.
